Fall Exhibit Opening

Join us in the Clements Gallery for the opening reception of “Enhanced Paintings from Photos” on October 3rd at 5:00-6:30 pm. Artist Lori Hammer, formerly a Reading Specialist in the Oconee County School System where she taught 4th and 5th grades, has attended many watercolor workshops led by well-known artists, the most recent one being taught by Dylan Scott Pierce at the Booth Western Museum of Art in Cartersville, GA.

She is currently taking acrylic classes with Charles Warnock at the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF). Her weekly painting group WOW (Wonders of Watercolor) she describes as a steady source of encouragement as she strives to improve her painting skills.  The group currently has an exhibit at the Winterville Cultural Arts Center until October 30.  They are open Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 – 2:00. Lori says she takes a reference photo in the best light and tries to “capture the spirit of the scene” in her painting. Come see how beautifully she succeeds!
