Politics In The Trump Era: A political discussion group; From Facts To Lies; From Realities To Fantasies; And All In Between
First meeting: Sunday, March 5, 12:30-1:30.
These meetings will be regular discussions of current political events, offering attendees an opportunity to present their personal perspectives.Topics may include policy, international relations, economics, media, elections, healthcare, education, and social justice.
We will meet on the first and third Sunday of each month, beginning March 5, from 12:30 – 1:30 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens on Timothy Road. The group is open to everyone. Regular attendance is not required.
The facilitator will begin the sessions with a brief overview of the week’s events and/or an article that may spur group discussion.
Facilitator Joey Freeman combines a long-time passion for political issues with a career that spans health care, massage therapy; music, piano performance; careers and communications, author and advisor. He has been an Athens massage therapist since 1999. As a pianist, he was a semifinalist in the Van Cliburn International Competition for Outstanding Amateurs. As a career and communications advisor he is a nationally-published author. He holds three Masters degrees (Arts, Business Administration, Fine Arts). In the political arena, he is particularly interested in communications (strategies, messaging, and targeting) along with propaganda and disinformation.
