Ministry Council Reflections

At its September 19, 2017 meeting, the Ministry Council …

…Discussed establishing Ministry Cluster and team goals for the 2017-2018 program year.

…Discussed the ongoing process of updating existing or creating new Team/Committee charters.

…Discussed the idea of term limits for team/committee leadership and membership. This is one item that will be discussed at the next Leadership Council meeting on November 11, 2018.

…Discussed roles for Lay Ministers emerita/emeritus.

…Reviewed the recent Open House held on August 26, which, with 14-15 guests in attendance, we deemed successful. Several guests have returned to services and/or other activities.  We discussed ideas/suggestions for the next time we hold an Open House for the larger community.

…Discussed the need for better communication of Ministry Clusters, Teams/Committees, and activities with participants in the New to UUFA classes.

…Decided to arrange the Ministry Council agenda by priority, as suggested by Rev. Dan Hotchkiss in Governance and Ministry.

…Made a renewed commitment to the exchange of meeting notes/minutes between Ministry Council and the Board of Trustees, and the communication of a summary of Ministry Council notes to the congregation via the UUFA Website and Tapestry.

…Approved the Social Action Committee’s request to raise funds for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) renewals.
