Construction began the week of April 23! The orange construction fencing and black silt fences are now visible across the property. Preparation for the new addition has begun by removing exterior brick; framing temporary walls in the Fellowship Hall, Foyer, and old office so that the exterior walls can be removed; and lots of digging in the old parking circle so that new, larger drainage lines can be installed.
During the week, UUFA parking is restricted to the section of the parking lot closest to the woods, away from Timothy Road. Subcontractors will be using the central section during the weekday. Carpooling is strongly encouraged on Sundays due to the loss of parking spaces within the restricted construction fencing.
Regular updates will be provided. Please be patient and flexible as disruptions will occur periodically, and other issues will arise!
Drew Wren continues as our CloverLeaf project manager and Alyssa Ferguson is the on-site supervisor. Phase 1 work will include the new parking lot off Cheatham Rd and construction of the new Gathering Hall, multipurpose room, conference room, restrooms, and offices. If the weather is good, CloverLeaf intends to finish this phase by early August.
